How We Are Helping to Support the Freelance PR Jobs Market
The PR Cavalry
We have agreed with the PRCA that any freelancer hired via their Freelancer Matchmaker Portal will not pay any commission for us for three months, providing that they are shortlisted by the client before the end of April.
This means that in effect, we are working for free on these assignments and transferring our income directly to the freelancer.
It continues to be completely free for clients to use The PR Cavalry platform to hire freelancers, saving them time, effort and money in finding and hiring freelancers whose skills and sector experience are a close match to the client’s brief.
We are one of a number of organisations in the PR industry who have offered their services either at a discount or completely free in order to support the industry.
A full list of companies who are providing financial support and other kinds of help to the PR industry can be found at https://www.prca.org.uk/externalcv19support
PR Cavalry founder Nigel Sarbutts says: “Freelancers are being hit exceptionally hard by Covid-19 and we would urge any employer who is sitting on an invoice from a freelancer to pay it today.
“Freelancers are the oil in the PR industry machine and we believe that their services will be in great demand when things ease and employers begin to adjust to whatever the new normal will look like. That will take time and during that period, accessing flexible, freelance will be enormously valuable. Protecting goodwill now will pay rich dividends in the near future.”
In addition to this financial support we are doing more to provide information and advice via the Freelance PR Facebook Group which we administrate. This group has over 3100 members and in the last 28 days has seen over 5000 comments posted and 2600 active members.
